Cecily strong
Cecily Legler Strong was born on February 8, 1984. She is an American comic and actress. Strong is best known for her role as a character on the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022. Strong is also the longest-tenured female cast member in the show's history. Strong was cast on SNL while doing improv at The Second City in Chicago and then moved to Los Angeles after graduating from CalArts. Her current position is a performer on the Apple TV+ musical comedy show Schmigadoon! She co-produces (2021 to present).
Other roles she has played include voice work in The Awesomes (2013-2015), and supporting roles in films such as Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. In 2015, she hosted the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Her first book, the memoir This Will All be Over Soon, was published in 2021.
She was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist in an Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.
Childhood and early life
Strong was born in Springfield Illinois and raised in Oak Park (an inner-ring suburb of Chicago). She is the daughter of Penelope Strong and William Strong. He was a chief of the Associated Press bureau and also ran his own PR firm until 2013. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experiences as a nurse practitioner and has worked at several local hospitals. Strong is the daughter of divorced parents. Strong was attracted by SNL from an early age. She enjoyed performing sketches with her friend as well as watching the old SNL commercials on VHS. "I had a tape containing the top commercials that I used every day. She's stated that she was influenced by the late Phil Hartman.
